A few days back, trusted leakster Evan Blass confirmed that the upcoming Galaxy Note 7 from Samsung will feature a 5.7-inch sized display. However, it looks like Samsung may be testing a prototype with a bigger 6-inch display. A Galaxy Note 7 unit carrying the model number SM-N930R4 was recently imported to India and has shown up on the Zauba portal.
It is now all but confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will bear the model number SM-N930, so the device imported into India for testing is definitely a prototype of the Galaxy Note 7. However, the fact that the prototype was imported into India barely a month before the phablet is expected to be unveiled, makes it pretty clear that the device isn't an early prototype. What does seem possible is that the screen size may have been mentioned as being 6.0" by mistake and the final device will indeed ship with a 5.7-inch sized Quad HD Super AMOLED display, just like its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 5.
Evan Blass has been spot on with his info most of the times, so we have no reason to doubt his claim. Also, most other reports had hinted at a slightly larger 5.8" display but no other report has so far hinted at a 6-inch display size for the Galaxy Note 7.
As revealed by the renders leaked over the weekend, the Galaxy Note 7 will be the first ever Note branded device to feature a dual-curved edge display. It will also be the first Galaxy flagship smartphone to come with an iris scanner, as well as a USB Type-C port. Other confirmed specifications include 6GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable onboard memory, IP68 certification for dust and water resistance, 12MP rear camera with Dual Pixel tech, 5MP selfie camera with an f/1.7 aperture lens, and a 3600-4000mAh capacity battery.
